Alan Oliver
Society President from 2008 until 2022, now Honorary President Alan Oliver is a professional artist with over forty years experience, working in watercolours, oils, acrylics and pastels. His work is mostly landscape based and he is essentially interested in capturing special light falling on any subject. 'For me drawing and painting is a form of diary, once drawn and painted, never forgotten' He trained initially as an engineer, then as a graphic designer and a technical illustrator and became a professional painter in 1983. Alan has exhibited in most of the London art societies including the Royal Watercolour Society, The Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters, The Royal Oil Institute, The Pastel Society and the Royal Academy. Alan has completed many commissioned paintings, mainly of houses. He has had three books published. He also has written for art magazines. |
