Scilla GallopPriscilla was a primary school teacher for many years and during that time she attended evening classes in watercolours.
Since retiring she has taken a variety of art classes at the Attenborough Centre, Fosse Arts and the WEA developing an interest in other media. Through these classes she has developed her skills and the confidence to try different subjects and styles. She especially enjoys using soft pastels, charcoal and acrylic. Scilla usually paints landscapes or still life and gets her inspiration from holidays, the garden and the surrounding countryside. Scilla is a member of the Leicestershire Pastel Society, Birstall and District Art Society and the Crown Hills Art Society. She is also a member of the upstARTs, a group of friends who met at the Attenborough Arts Centre who meet to paint together a few times a year and have exhibited at Art House, the Old Library and the Little Theatre. |
